John B. Johnson is an ordained Assemblies of God Minister affiliated with the Oklahoma District Council of the Assemblies of God. Involved in Pastoral Ministry for more than 40 years he has served in a variety of church staff positions including Minister of Counseling, Minister of Christian Education, Pastor of Adult Ministries, Minister of Worship and Music and for twelve years Senior Pastor of Glad Tidings Church, Altus, Oklahoma.
An educator, Rev. Johnson has served as an adjunct professor and instructor at Western Oklahoma State College, Altus, Rose State College, Midwest City, Southwest Christian University, Bethany and Langston University, Langston.
In addition, Rev. Johnson served most recently as the Chief of Staff for the Canadian County (Oklahoma) Commissioners. His broad background also includes both Radio and Television Broadcasting.
John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Literature from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma and two Master’s Degrees in Bible -Theology and Education from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield Missouri. In addition he is a certified Marriage and Family Educator for the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative and a certified Family Mediator for the Oklahoma Judicial System.
Pastor Johnson is married to his wife of more than 40 years, Rebecca who works as an accountant for the United States Air Force at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. They have two children, a son, Dr. Joshua Johnson, M.D. of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and a daughter, Erin Johnson, PhD of Athens, Georgia.
